Mission

Information Goddess Consulting is the go-to resource for gaming, technology and youth services training and consulting for public and school libraries, delivering superior continuing education workshops to library staff, in person and online, and providing dynamic and interactive technology and gaming programs to library patrons of all ages.

Beth has been hired to teach continuing education classes to librarians for Infopeople (San Mateo, CA), Simmons Graduate School of Library Science, and YALSA (Young Adult Library Services Association), as well as the Connecticut State Library, the MA Regional Library System, and the Arizona State Library, among others. She has presented at the library conferences of all six New England state chapters of ALA as well as the annual conferences for the Cape Cod & Islands Library Association and the New England Library Assocation, among others. She also does staff development at individual libraries in New England. Beth has presented in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Indianapolis, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, and internationally in Canada in Toronto, Ontario and St. John's, Newfoundland.

In addition to training and workshops for library staff, Beth delivers programs for library patrons, such as technology petting zoo, Internet Safety, and using the library catalog for adults, and game design, creative writing, and craft programas for youth.

Bio

Beth Gallaway, author of Game On: Gaming at the Library (Neal-Schuman, 2009), was named a Library Journal Mover & Shaker in 2006 for her work in advocating for video games in libraries. She is an independent library trainer/consultant specializing in gaming, technology, and youth services, and is a YALSA certified Serving the Underserved (SUS) trainer. Beth is chair of the 2011 YALSA Alex Award, and chair of the YALSA Advocacy Task Force.
