Pain in the Brain Presentation

YALSA Serving the Underserved Workshop, presented for a variety of clients
August 2003-present

This 10-minute guided visualization should be done in comfort and privacy. I do not recommend that you do it at work. I am going to ask a series of questions. Do not answer them aloud—try to answer them silently, in terms of your senses—images, sounds, smells, textures, feelings and emotions. If at any point you feel uncomfortable, please stop the recording.

The purpose of the Moment of Truth rap is to do get you thinking about serving teens, do develop empathy for teens, and to find some common ground. Patrick Jones' Moment of Truth Rap was adapted from an exercise by Jim Rosinia, youth services consultant at the North Carolina State Library, and it used with permission. The audio file was created exclusively for this YALSA Pain In the Brain class and may not be redistributed or shared with people not registered for this course. The exercise can be found in Do it Right! by Patrick Jones and Joel Shoemaker.
